Urvi Resort

Discover RWAMP Studio’s concept design for Urvi Resort in Madikeri—a harmonious blend of earth, nature, and community rooted in the landscapes of Coorg.

Urvi Resort, nestled in the heart of Madikeri, draws its name from “Urvi” — meaning Heaven and Earth. This eco-resort is conceived as a tranquil retreat, where architecture acts as a gentle mediator between lush paddy fields and mountain forests.

Crafted by RWAMP Studio, the design is deeply inspired by the vibrant textures, colors, and natural materials found in the surrounding village. Interiors are imagined as earth-sculpted spaces, allowing the landscape to flow through them. Each villa is a cocoon of quiet comfort, using soft, curving walls, sunlit corners, and natural ventilation to offer a slow, immersive escape from urban life.

A tree-lined central spine connects the entire property—this multi-functional pathway transforms into a deck, promenade, park, and pergola, forming the heart of the resort’s community experience. This central axis is more than circulation—it’s a shared outdoor living space that brings guests together, while still allowing the villas to remain private sanctuaries.

The design philosophy centers around:

  • Minimal intervention and maximum connection to nature
  • Use of local, organic materials
  • Blending indoor-outdoor transitions through soft architectural forms
  • Designing for sensory experience—light, breeze, texture, and view
  • Sustainability as embedded, not imposed
